What's So Great About Orengeo? (www.orengeo.com)

During my visit to orengeo (www.orengeo.com) located in Milpitas, CA, I had the opportunity to interview several of orengeo’s developers about the company website and its functions. orengeo is an e-commerce platform provider which allows people and businesses to participate in online business activities using its free website templates and tools. These website templates are completely customizable; you can use them for almost anything. Additionally, orengeo provides its users with various e-commerce tools for buying and selling items in the orengeo community.

I first interviewed Po, the web developer for orengeo. According to him the best feature of orengeo is its free website template, which are easy to use and customizable. These templates are readymade, which means you don’t have to be a computer expert to run your own online store because orengeo takes care of all back end e-commerce tools. The major difference between orengeo and other auction sites is that orengeo’s platform has many useful options available to users: online auction store, online retail store, and blog site just to name a few. 

Next, I interviewed Song, who is a graphic designer. She customizes the websites for Orengeo users and creates the salient images and features that appear on them. On each user’s website, other orengeo community members sites are displayed, viewed, and can be visited. This feature promotes the businesses of all orengeo users, which creates a diverse online community while exposing their items to a broader audience.

Third, I interviewed with Raj, the software developer for orengeo. According to him, the best feature of orengeo is that “the templates are completely free and easy to use.” Moreover, anyone can use these templates, such as small businesses that don’t have the budget to hire their own web developers to create or manage their websites. Another convenient feature is the ability to import items from eBay to your orengeo auction site. Before posting the item, users have the option to edit the item’s image, description, price, and other details.

Finally, I interviewed Ken, the president of orengeo. He said that you can expose your items to a large group of buyers on orengeo because of all the options available. This way, your products are more likely to be bought and you can easily manage your own online store without being a computer expert.  

Overall, orengeo is a magnificent e-commerce platform provider for individuals who wish to create their own online store website but only have limited resources and don’t want to pay for a template. All kinds of businesses can advertise their products and services in the orengeo community. Even if you just want to buy or sell items, orengeo can efficiently provide an auctioning service, too.

As a ninth grader, I was thrilled to learn about orengeo and its unique services. This is an eye opening experience I won’t forget and I will surely apply my experience with orengeo to my future endeavors.
